@9HFJ6VN6mos6MO
I believe that it goes both ways. The government and individuals should work together to continue to keep the nations traditional values.
@9HGGF726mos6MO
I think it would go in both ways. If individuals prioritize the preservation of their nation's traditional values, they should actively strive towards it. Collaboration and collective efforts are essential in this endeavor, as it cannot solely rely on the responsibility of an individual or a single group
individuals should have freedom to live however they please as long as they do not interfere with the freedom of others.
No, tradition is determined by the people, not the government.
@9HG745R6mos6MO
It should be left to individuals. Times change, and what the people want for their country is most important. Preserving tradition is meaningless if it is not what the individuals want.
@9HDWY4J6mos6MO
I believe that it goes both ways. The government and individuals should work together to continue to keep the nations traditional values.
@9HDMZZQ6mos6MO
I think it should be both. If someone really cares about preserving their nation's traditional values, they'll work for it. They all can work together. It should be just one person's or one group's responsibility.
@9HHBDV66mos6MO
the government should preserve traditional values in terms of being constitutional and supporting freedom in our country. yet our country is evolving and we should be open to changes, but not disrespectful to traditions that started our freedom.
@9HDVVZH6mos6MO
I think it should be both. If someone really cares about preserving their nation's traditional values, they'll work for it. They all can work together. It should be just one person's or one group's responsibility.
@9HGCD2T6mos6MO
I believe that it goes both ways. The government and individuals should work together to continue to keep the nations traditional values.
@9HGGXLL6mos6MO
Left to individuals. Personally, the need to try to "preserve your culture" against other cultures seems to be very different from "the great mixing pot" that America was supposed to be. It's good to connect to cultural heritage but not to push that on others.
@9HFK55QRepublican6mos6MO
That should be left to the individuals because that comes from the people and not from the government.
@9HDLVZRRepublican6mos6MO
I believe that the role of the government is to do what is best for the people. "This is what the LORD says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’" Jeremiah 6:16
@9HGMKBH6mos6MO
A nations traditions live in its people, the government is not the keeper of the flame. The people decide what’s important to them not some politician.
@9HF763M6mos6MO
That should be left to individuals. However, it is the government’s job to uphold and defend the US Constitution. Wherever that intersects with traditional values, the federal government has an obligation.
@9HDRN28Peace and Freedom6mos6MO
I think it should be both. If they care about preserving the nation's traditional value they will make it work and figure things out . They all can work together.
@9HDMGQD6mos6MO
I think this should be left to individuals so they can choose what they value most instead of having it chosen for them.
@9HDNG6J6mos6MO
It should be left to the individuals in every situation. The nation doesn't have values, the people of the nation do, and those people are living, so the values should be living and changing too.
@9HG9ZXG6mos6MO
It should be left to individuals, we can't evolve as a nation otherwise.
@9HKDCM65mos5MO
I would say it can be both to be honest because the individuals should be able to choose whether to continue to following a nations traditional values and the government should ensure that it is optional.
@9HDNXT3Republican6mos6MO
It should be both because if individuals rep those values then so should the gov. because they rep us
@9HDT8VP6mos6MO
A nation will have to adapt as time goes by. We cannot apply every single traditional principle to today's world as the world has adapted and changed over time. The individuals residing in the country make up the countries values, so it should be their responsibility and the government's responsibility to monitor and ensure it is safe and progressive.
@9HFBP47Justice party member6mos6MO
I think it's up to both individuals and the government. Individuals are free to practice their nation's traditional values, and the nation should express them more because nationalism is a beautiful thing.
@9HG7BNY6mos6MO
I think that it should be left up to the people if it is threating national identity
@9HMCL3Q 5mos5MO
I feel that it should be left to the individuals. Though the government has its own values it was built on, it should not force those values on others.
@9HMKMKZ5mos5MO
I think it should be left to the individuals, I don’t believe the government has the right to be involved in people’s personal lives of enforce them to follow a particular belief.
@9HKC8C75mos5MO
Left to the individual. We're literally built on immigrants... all of our ancestors moved here. Moreover, we're literally built on the freedom to be ourselves, whether it be speech or religion, and so should have out own values. Also, most of these "traditional values" are religious, which isn't very "freedom of religion".
@9HKCNYW5mos5MO
THIS!! I agree wholeheartedly with everything you just said
@9HDTR7GIndependent6mos6MO
The question answers itself. Traditional values are meaningless if the individuals themselves do not subscribe to them. Without belief tradition is just going through the motions of obsolete processes.
I think the government should contribute to the nation's values but they should be a little easier to adapt to modern times.
@9HKHLCG5mos5MO
Government should not be aloud to control traditional values and that should be left to the individual persons
@9HFC7296mos6MO
The individuals. They only express what they believe and cannot force others to think so.
@9HPH79G 5mos5MO
That should be left to individuals. Values change with time, and new laws need to be instated to accurately reflect the public's needs. Also, the government should always adhere to the rights and choices of the people, rather than the past.
@9HJ6R8S5mos5MO
Both the government and individuals share the duty of preserving a nations traditional values.
@9HG842ZRepublican6mos6MO
I believe that it goes both ways. The government and individuals should work together to continue to keep the nations traditional values.
@9HGK34M6mos6MO
It should be left to individuals to decide what they want to do. We can't force someone into something, or they'll resent it, so it should be left to them to decide what they do.
@9HFGPXVRepublican6mos6MO
Both, the government should protect them and the people should respect them
@9HHJVYQPeace and Freedom 5mos5MO
I think it should be a mix of both. the government can help to give a push to this problem while the individuals themselves are in charge of changing.
@9HGDCNZ6mos6MO
Its on both the government and individuals they can both preserve a nation's traditional values and work together to preserve them and continue with traditional values.
@9HHKFR26mos6MO
Traditional values can be good and remind a country of its origins, however its important to update with the times and the people. Individuals should be able to sway values without totally uprooting the good ones.
@9HGP3FK6mos6MO
People are free to do as they please, so long as it does not violate the freedom of others.
@9HLVXT45mos5MO
I think it should be left to individuals because the government shouldn't have to preserve the citizens traditional values
@9HCTMCW6mos6MO
Nations are built off culture and traditional values. It should be promoted but ran by society, and not the government. Unless their are large traditional events like thanksgiving, then they should join in that.
@9HNMJ865mos5MO
Is up to the individuals. The people make the culture not to government. The government just mandate people. And the United States is full of different people all of us are immigrants all of us are gonna have a lot of traditions and it’s going to change. Overtime we will not have the same traditions and that’s OK. But our traditional values shouldn’t stay the same because we are evolving from that. Instead we should evolve the traditional values with todays standards
I believe it should be left to both the individuals and the government. Sure the government can do its part to push it, but its ultimately up to the individuals to carry out the actions necessary to preserve the nation's traditional values.
@9HGH4G2Women’s Equality6mos6MO
Yes, i believe its incredibly important to carry on traditions and keep in touch with our roots. As well as the fact that the right to practice any kind of relegion, but that should be left to the choice of individuals. If they would like to practice they may, but if they choose not to they don't have to. Neither should be looked down upon or controlled by the government. As long as they don't bring direct harm to others.
@9HFHLXK6mos6MO
I think that it should be up to the people to keep and preserve the ways and traditions of a nation. A nation should change over time as the people within it change as well.
@9HMRLX95mos5MO
I believe that each individual has the right to choose their own values and that the government should not be concerned with that topic.
@9HHGS236mos6MO
I think we have to let people be because you shouldn't just force people to change because they think differently from you.
@9HDQQRP6mos6MO
I think that it should be up to individuals to preserve traditional values because everyone wants something different, so the government shouldn't have to enforce this on the people as a whole.
